Outstanding Student Chapter Contest

PURPOSE OF STUDENT CHAPTERS: ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Student Chapters aims to provide young professionals with opportunities to learn, observe and develop their skills with current industry leaders.

°¿³Ü°ùÌýOutstanding Student Chapter Awards are broken up into four categories for student chapters to be awarded for exemplary demonstration of the ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý of America tenants of Skill, Responsibility & Integrity:

OUTSTANDING STUDENT CHAPTER AWARDS:

ELIGIBILTY:  Project(s) must be performed during the 2024/25 academic year (August 2024 through May 2025).  Projects may be performed as part of a course if student chapter members completed it as a club activity or it could be an additional club activity.  Student chapter applicants can apply for more than one award however each award has separate eligibility guidelines (see specific applications for details). Student Chapters must be sponsored by an ACCE/ABET accredited program.

DUE DATE: The deadline for completed applications to be received at ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý of America: 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.

´³±«¶Ù³Ò±õ±·³Ò:ÌýEntries will be judged by a committee comprised of ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý of America’s Construction Leadership Council.  Each application with be judged in comparison with the other applicants and ranked based on the voting of our judges.  It is the applicants’ responsibility to provide sufficient details in your application to showcase your chapter’s skills, accomplishments and successes.

WINNING ENTERIES: Each winning category will be a $2,000 cash prize, 4 complementary student registrations and an additional $1,000 travel stipend to attend  on March 24-26, 2026 in Orlando, FL to present their winning projects.

Applications for the 2024 Outstanding Student Chapter Contest have been accepted and ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý of America received applications from exceptional Student Chapters across the country! This year, our Outstanding Student Chapter Awards were broken up into four categories for student chapters to be awarded for exemplary demonstration of the ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý of America tenants of Skill, Responsibility & Integrity. Four applications in particular stood out from the others and ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý of America is happy to announce the winners:

Impact Award: ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Student Chapter at California State University—Chico

The ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Student Chapter Impact Award honors chapters that demonstrate a profound influence on their members, their community, and the industry throughout the academic year. This award recognizes outstanding efforts in organizing networking events, fundraising initiatives, and active participation in construction competitions.

California State University, Chico’s ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Student Chapter stands out for its commitment to fostering student engagement in the construction industry. The chapter organizes and hosts key events such as job walks and fall kickoff meetings, providing students with invaluable hands-on experience and industry insight. By connecting with both the Delta/Sierra and Shasta/Eureka ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Districts in California, the Chico chapter has helped students stay informed on the latest construction laws, legislation, and regional industry developments. These collaborations have proven essential in equipping future construction professionals with the knowledge and connections necessary for success in Northern California's dynamic construction landscape.

Resilient/Emerging Student Chapter Award: ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Student Chapter at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock

The New and Emerging Outstanding Student Chapter Award recognizes an ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Student Chapter that has shown exceptional growth in membership and engagement within its first three years of operation.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý Student Chapter, established in 2022, has been recognized for its strong partnerships with the local ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý chapter and its increased involvement in the construction industry. The chapter has grown steadily by actively engaging with students through department presentations and promoting their organization via university marquees. Student officers benefit from mentorship by Arkansas ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý CLC liaisons and UA Little Rock faculty advisors, guiding them in the organization of monthly meetings, volunteer opportunities, and networking events throughout the academic year. In addition to these activities, the chapter participates annually in community service projects, professional development events, recruiting efforts, and ¿Û¿Û‚÷ý-related social gatherings. The chapter’s growth and contributions to the construction community in such a short period make them a standout example of student chapter success.
